This individual will be reviewing the mortgage documentary scheme on each new extension of credit or renewal, and will be approving its accuracy and completeness prior to the distribution of proceeds.
This individual will be conducting reviews of previously established credit files; correcting any deficiencies that are needed.
In addition to performing pre- and post-closing audits for mortgage loans, this individual will also be working closely with our Accounting Department, to monitor and maintain all adjustments affecting general ledger accounts.
This role requires proficiency in Excel, and the ability to learn new software applications with minimal supervision.
Key requirements for this position include: the ability to perform various tasks in a fast-paced and considerably paperless work environment, and a strong attention to detail.
The duties of a Mortgage Servicer include, but are not limited to: Mortgage Servicing Complying with procedures for processing end of day payment files and exceptions.
Working closely with the Accounting Department to ensure GL accounts are properly reconciled.
Monitoring reports to ensure compliance with mortgage servicing regulations.
Tracking may include escrow disbursements, payoffs, lien releases and ARM notices.
Knowledge Staying abreast of all applicable laws and regulations to ensure compliance with mortgage servicing guidelines.
Demonstrating appropriate knowledge and initiative essential to performance of the position.
Organization Organizing daily activities to ensure all tasks and follow up items are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
This includes payoff and lien releases.
Maintaining accurate file maintenance and meeting all deadlines.
Closing/Funding Preparing and coordinating the delivery of closing documents to the closing agent.
Complying with procedures for tracking and delivery of the closing disclosure to borrower(s).
Reviewing all closing and post-closing conditions prior to loan funding.
Confirming that loan is ready to fund, per policy and procedures.
Funding loans, requesting wires, updating system and exporting loans to servicing software.
Member Experience Providing exceptional service to members and staff.
Communicating in a knowledgeable, effective and timely manner.
Cultivating a team environment that promotes positive, efficient and collaborative ideas.
Promoting actively all Credit Union products and promotional activities in daily interaction with members to improve their financial wellness.
This position requires the individual to provide detailed information on Home Equity and/or Mortgage Loans; therefore, registration in the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is required.
If the individual is not currently registered, they will need to pass the applicable background screening to be registered.
This screening may be different than what is required for the individual to become employed by the Credit Union.
