We are seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Field Safety Director in the Central Region.
The Field Safety Director is based in Lexington, KY, and will support operations throughout Kentucky and portions of the surrounding states.
The Field Safety Director will provide strategic leadership in safety and training execution in support of a safe and profitable operation that strives to improve safety results.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and sustaining a strong safety and training culture through risk reduction and injury prevention efforts, as well as maintaining compliance to Elliot policies and procedures and applicable federal, state and local regulations.
The Field Safety Director will report to the Central Region Safety Supervisor, and has the responsibility to execute and document safety, training and compliance tasks and initiatives across the region.
The successful candidate must work collaboratively with Corporate Safety and Training and Regional Management to identify and lead appropriate initiatives that deliver continuous safety improvement results.
Qualifications/Education/Experience Requirements:
The successful candidate must have the ability to organize and plan, delegate, lead, develop team members through coaching and performance improvement, motivate/effectively influence all levels of the organization, and maintain effective organizational controls.
Basic preferred qualifications include:
An Associate s degree or specialized certification(s) in a health and safety or environmental discipline.
5 years of experience in an environmental health and safety role.
Demonstrated ability to organize, influence, and lead multi-functional teams and foster a proactive team environment.
Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements of OSHA, NFPA, and other federal and state agencies.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills.
Preferred certification: CUSP, CHST, and/or CSP
Expectations and Accountabilities:
Provide management and leadership in safety, health, and training.
This requires participation in efforts to reach World Class objectives of safety, quality, customer service, and includes coordinating a process for continuous feedback and system assessment.
Provide leadership, development, and direction for front-line and general supervision.
Oversee and maintain responsibility for all aspects of compliance with OSHA and other federal and state mandated regulations and Elliot reporting requirements.
Lead safety initiatives that achieve safety objectives and result in an improvement in safety performance in the short term while building the basis for ongoing, continuous improvement to a World Class performance level.
Create and foster programs that lead to the creation of a culture where safety is recognized as a value and employees are motivated to develop and to use safe work habits.
Identify, evaluate and coordinate implementation of new methods and approaches to accelerate safety improvement.
