The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Director, Network Systems at our National Center office located in Dallas, TX.
The Director, Network Systems is responsible for providing leadership and both strategic and tactical management of the American Heart Association network inclusive of cloud, wide-area, and local networks.
Ensures reliable services are available to American Heart Association customers and service partners, staff, and the public in support of the American Heart Association’s mission.
Responsible for day-to-day design and implementation of networks and new network technologies and topologies in support of evolving business needs or security concerns.
Responsible for working closely with cross functional teams including the Cybersecurity Operations Team and the Server and Data Center Teams to accurately configure the networks and edge devices to respond to new security threats and to provide data in support of proactive security measures.
This position is responsible for asset tracking, budget management and forecasting, analyzing data and identifying trends for proactive and reactive positioning.
Finally, responsible for developing strategic and collaborative relationships with key vendors, BT leadership, technical staff, and American Heart Association leadership throughout the organization.

Responsibilities Supervises local and remote Network Engineers, setting long-term goals and short-term priorities to ensure accurate service delivery for Association critical apps.
Implement network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.
g.
, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS.
Design network architecture for cloud environments (Azure, AWS currently) with integration into security services and on-premises networks.
Ensure network designs are documented and meet performance, security, and reliability requirements.
Handles service delivery, planning for maintenance, service level agreement metrics, and service catalog.
Plans for network growth, scalability, and future technology adoption.
Leads team training, cross-training, documentation, and skills elevation.
Develop a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Budgeting, spend tracking, invoice reconciliation, prepay accounting, renewal management.
Craft or improve processes, policies and procedures and other department materials.
Generate reports on network performance, uptime, and security compliance.
Identifies and implements ways to reduce costs by improving processes or finding better solutions.
Develop and maintain network disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
