WHAT IS AN INTEGRATED SUCCESS COACH TEACHING ASSISTANT? Integrated Success Coach (ISC) Teaching Assistants at the University of Kentucky are individuals who take a holistic approach to working with students to assist them in achieving their goals and finding college success.
ISC TAs are specially trained to ask students non-judgmental questions to help them get the clarity they need to be successful.
In a typical coaching session, an Integrated Success Coach TA partners with a student to design personalized action plans around topics such as Academic Life Skills, Careers, Finances, Leadership, First Gen, and Wellness.
ISC TAs truly value and enjoy working with students, faculty, staff, and partners.
A TYPICAL WORKDAY for an ISC TA: An example of a typical workday as an Integrated Success Coach Teaching Assistant includes 4-6 of the following: Engaging in individual coaching sessions with students in a set weekly schedule, up to 17-18 hours per week, In addition to working daytime hours, working at least one evening (5:00 p.
m.
-9:00 p.
m.
) per week and rotating Sunday evening hours (4:00 p.
m.
– 8:00 p.
m.
), Leading one or more group coaching sessions, Administrative tasks such as documenting, collecting data, and communicating with students in a timely manner, Leading UK’s International Coaching Federation accredited coach training for partners and other coaches, Researching, benchmarking, and developing coaching tools, Attending team meetings and other professional development trainings, Programmatic support for the department, including assistance with hiring, training, marketing, and assessment projects Other duties as assigned.
All successful candidates must be available in August to attend our accredited coach training.
