Georgetown College is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant to the Registrar’s Office.
This position serves as the main customer/student services representative for the Office of the Registrar and assists the Registrar's Office in the areas of maintenance of academic records and general office duties.
This position works closely with students and faculty, other Student Services Office, including Academic Success, the Graduate Education Office, Admissions, Student Accounts and Student Life Office
Established in 1829, Georgetown College is a distinguished private college in the Bluegrass region of central Kentucky, offering primarily undergraduate programs in the liberal arts, sciences, and professions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as main contact for in-person, phone and email inquiries.
Assists with preregistration and registration preparation and procedures in undergraduate and graduate programs.
Assists with drop/add procedures in undergraduate programs, including cancellations and withdrawals.
Assists with unofficial, official transcript requests and collection of student record documentation
Helps maintain student records/files
Processes verification requests.
Processes student advisor changes, as well as address and name changes in student data system
Assists with PAWs (new student orientation.
Some weekends required
Assists Academic Success with processing Dean’s List letters, probation/suspension letters.
Assists with Nexus attendance entry, under supervision of Associate Registrar for Curriculum and Program Completion.
Assists with Commencement, including preparation in advance of ceremony.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and / or Experience - Bachelor’s degree (B.
A.
) preferred or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication / Language - Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills; basic mathematic skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to learn the administrative software systems.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to compose memos and other correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to current and former students, parents, employees of the college, and other people who make requests for service.
Mathematical - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret computer generated graphs.
Reasoning - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to problem-solve and make judgments and decisions when faced with new inquiries, situations and circumstances.
Privacy – Ability to protect student information and records.
