Hoop Dreams Basketball Coach

Qualities: * Have a passion for working with youth and developing basketball skills, as well as character skills.
* A standard for high-quality work by showing continued development within athletes * Highly organized with strong attention to detail * Grows with a team where expertise is shared and feedback is welcomed * Emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship Expectations: * Promote and actively participate in all activities while working effectively with fellow coaches and collaborate on daily responsibilities.
* Be able to dedicate four (4) hours for practices, at least two nights a week * Attend and coach weekly practices and events * Exemplify positive behavior to act as a role model for player * Teach individuals about basketball rules and regulations to help athletes develop a high level of understanding of the game.
Primary Duties: * Coach, manage, referee or assist with Youth-Leagues and Hoop Dreams Club Basketball * Preparation and execution of practice and game plans * Run practices independently * Evaluate individual athletic performance consistently by addressing skills deficits during practice sessions * Be able to modify lesson plans and instruction to meet the needs of the participants * Teach rules, fundamentals and enhance basic skills * Communicate with parents/guardians regarding the progress of their child / teen * Communicate to parents/guardians about additional Hoop Dreams opportunities that can benefit them or their child / teen * Ensure that all equipment is age-appropriate, safe and in proper working condition.
This includes conducting monthly equipment safety checks.
